How to Use Whey Protein Complex

Whey protein complex is a powdered dietary supplement made from milk protein. You can find the supplement in health food stores and in the supplement section of drugstores and supermarkets. Several companies produce the product, and it is usually comes in large tubs or cans that contain measuring scoops for ease of use. When protein complex has several uses, and it mixes well in almost any wet or moist food.

Step 1

Mix one or two scoops of whey protein with water or milk in a shaker bottle or blender. This method works best with flavored protein complex, such as vanilla or chocolate. Milk is thicker and will give the drink a better texture than water. It also provides additional protein. You also can use soy or rice milk.

Step 2

Add one or two scoops to a blender with frozen fruit and juice and blend into a smoothie. Add yogurt for additional protein. Use plain or vanilla protein powder for smoothies.

Step 3

Sprinkle 1 tsp. of whey protein complex on hot cereal, such as oatmeal or cream of wheat, to provide extra protein.

Step 4

Add two to four scoops of whey protein complex to cake, quick bread or muffin batter to boost the protein content. The powder also works well in pancake and waffle batter.
