Pimples can be embarrassing and unsightly wherever they pop up, but one place where they can be incredibly painful is on your buttocks. An ill-placed pimple can cause you discomfort when sitting, using the restroom or simply moving around. The discomfort will make you want to resolve the issue and heal the pimple as soon as possible, and following a few basic steps will help resolve your issue in a fairly timely manner.

Step 1

Wash your buttocks thoroughly once or twice a day. A mild, nondrying soap will serve to dry up the oils that are causing the pimples without irritating the skin and causing further damage. Don't pop the pimple while cleaning, as that can slow the healing process and spread the bacteria that was contained inside the pimple. The less you touch your buttocks, the less oil you transfer from your hands to the infected area.

Step 2

Apply an over-the-counter acne cream to the pimple with an active ingredient of benzoyl peroxide, sulfur, resorcinol or salicylic acid, according to the National Institute of Health. These can normally be purchased for just a few dollars. They work to kill the bacteria inside the pimple and help jump-start the healing process. Follow the application instructions, as some creams can dry out the skin, causing it to be red and itchy.

Step 3

Wear dry, loose-fitting cotton underwear so you can allow the pimple to heal naturally. If you wear tight underwear, you can trap moisture against the skin, which can irritate the skin and prevent the pimple from healing.
