How to Adjust Billy Blanks' Billy Bands

Billy Blanks created the Tae Bo fitness system, which mixes martial arts and dance moves into an intense aerobic workout. Billy Bands are elastic exercise bands with handles at one end and foot loops at the other. Use the bands to add resistance to the moves in the Tae Bo workouts. You need to know how to properly adjust them because Blanks instructs you to lengthen or shorten the bands for different exercises.

Step 1

Find the small plastic cone that's situated between the nylon straps on the handle.

Step 2

Pull the rubber tubing through the plastic cone in the direction of the handle. This shortens the band. Pull the rubber tubing in the opposite direction to lengthen the band.

Step 3

Grab the small, plastic ball that is attached to the nylon strap. Push the ball into the plastic cone and press firmly. The plastic ball holds the tube at the set length.

Tips and Warnings

  • Pull on the tubing to ensure that it is secure before you use the band for a workout.
