Clogged pores can quickly lead to acne breakouts, which are especially unpleasant when they occur on places that are difficult to hide, such as your cheeks. Many store-bought cleansers can help clogged pores, but they often are rough on your skin and may lead to dryness. There also are numerous natural and home remedies that can help to clear your skin; most of the ingredients needed come right from your kitchen.

Sugar, Honey and Milk

Step 1

Combine 2 tbsp. brown sugar, 2 tbsp. honey and ¼ cup of milk in a bowl and mix well together. All three ingredients are natural exfoliates that also moisturize your skin and help to prevent it from becoming overly dry, which also can lead to a breakout.

Step 2

Rub the mixture into your face with either your fingers or a washcloth. Gently massage the tonic into your skin and avoid rubbing too harshly or the sugar granules may scratch the surface of your cheeks.

Step 3

Allow the mixture to sit on your skin for five minutes and then rinse clean with water and a clean washcloth. Apply a noncomedogenic moisturizer, which does not contain oil or any other clogging ingredients.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Step 1

Place ½ cup apple cider vinegar, 1 cup water and ½ tsp. salt into a bowl and mix well together.

Step 2

Apply the mixture to your cheeks and any other area that contains acne with a clean washcloth.

Step 3

Leave the tonic on the affected areas for 15 minutes and then rinse clean with water and a fresh towel. Apply a noncomedogenic moisturizer.
