Fruitarians follow a subset of vegetarianism that is based on eating a diet of fruit. They believe that such a diet is the original one that was intended for human beings. A fruitarian drinks mainly water and fruit juice, although most water requirements are met through fruit consumption. Fruitarians drink herbal teas, such as green tea, and alternative beverages, such as coconut milk. Although some fruitarians may drink coffee, it is usually frowned upon, as brewing can be considered a form of cooking and the consumption of coffee may involve the use of dairy products.
Meals
A typical fruitarian breakfast may consist of a melon topped with nuts and raisins along with a glass of refreshing orange juice. A slice of watermelon with a cup of berries makes a light, tasty lunch. Dinner may consist of a cucumber, tomato and avocado salad sprinkled with nuts and seeds. Creativity and variety are the keys to preparing inviting fruitarian meals.
