Meditation is a technique used to observe the mind. It has the potential to improve your attention, reduce your stress levels and improve your emotional health. Kundalini, a meditation technique, can assist you toward reaching deeper states of meditation. Kundalini meditation is not for beginners; it should only be practiced by those with a consistent meditation practice and under the guidance of an experienced teacher. Consult with your health care provider before practicing meditation.

Step 1

Stand up; jump up and down a few times until you can feel your heart beating. Sit down in a comfortable position, one that you can maintain for at least 15 minutes.

Step 2

Close your eyes and tune into your breathing. Feel your heart beating.

Step 3

Focus on your heart beating and the energy radiating from the chest. Allow this energy to start radiating to other parts of your body, almost like liquid flowing from your heart.

Step 4

Feel the energy radiating through your entire body. Focus on feeling this energy and making it stronger. Stay in this meditation for up to an hour.

Tips and Warnings

  • Once your sitting period has ended, the goal of kundalini meditation is to carry the energy from the meditation into normal life. You can do this by focusing on your heartbeat at any time.
  • Deep meditation techniques should be practiced under the guidance of an experienced teacher.

Things You'll Need

  • Meditation cushion (optional)
