A pimple becomes inflamed when bacteria enters your pores, causing redness and increasing the size of your pimple. Treating the pimple fast does not require expensive medications. Often you can treat your inflamed pimple at home using ingredients in your refrigerator, kitchen or medicine cabinet. Taking fast action to reduce pimple redness can help reduce inflammation.

Turmeric

One redness-relieving remedy for acne is in your spice rack: turmeric. This orange-tinged spice has antifungal and antibacterial powers that can help to quickly bring your pimple to a head, according to "Whole Living." Tumeric also helps to reduce inflammation because the amount of bacteria in your pimple is reduced. To create a blemish-fighting mixture, combine several drops of water or aloe vera juice with 1/2 tsp. of powdered turmeric. Mix together to make a paste; then apply it to your acne blemish and leave it on for an hour before rinsing the paste off your pimple.

Eye Drops

Just as eye drops can get redness out of your eyes, they also can get the redness out of a pimple, helping to reduce inflammation. Start by soaking a cotton swab in an anti-redness eye drop, then place the swab over your pimple, holding it gently to the pimple for 10 seconds. This should help to take some of the redness out of it by causing the inflamed blood vessels to constrict. You can re-apply the drops throughout the day to continue reducing the redness.

Ice

Just as anti-redness eye drops can help to constrict your blood vessels, ice can as well. Soothe your inflamed pimple by placing ice in a sandwich bag or in a washcloth and then applying it to your blemish. Hold it for up to 10 minutes to allow time for your blood vessels to constrict to reduce the redness. Do not place the ice directly on your pimple, however, as this can injure your skin.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is a common antibacterial and antimicrobial substance that you may have around your home to soothe burns or skin conditions such as poison ivy. This oil also can be an effective blemish fighter, taking on some of the same characteristics as benzoyl peroxide, a topical medication to fight blemishes. You can apply this oil to your blemish twice per day to soothe inflammation and quickly dry up the pimple.
