How to Know if an Oxy Colon Cleanse Is Taking Effect

According to Consumer Reports, proponents of over-the-counter colon cleansing products claim cleansing the large intestine removes toxins and parasites from your colon, keeping them from absorbing into your bloodstream. Doctors may require cleansing your colon in preparation for medical procedures such as a colonoscopy, but they discourage cleansings in an attempt to detoxify your body or for weight loss. Before trying an oxygen colon cleanse, check with your health care provider regarding how your current medications may react to the cleanse. Drink plenty of water during your cleansing period and look for signs that the product is taking effect.

Step 1

Follow the directions of the oxygen colon cleanse product of your choice. Take the suggested amount of capsules with the correct amount of water and/or food for the desired results.

Step 2

Anticipate some temporary minor cramping after taking the cleanse capsules. This may occur if your stomach is full and your digestive track has not been functioning at its peak performance levels. This is a sign that your oxygen colon cleanse product is beginning to work.

Step 3

Expect to experience an increase in your bowel movements. You should have at least three to five bowel movements the day after taking your initial dose of oxygen colon cleanse product. An increase in daily bowel movements is a sure sign that your colon cleanse is taking effect.

Step 4

Increase your dosage of colon cleanse capsules as directed by your product manufacturer if you do not experience at least three bowel movements the day after your initial dosage. Your oxygen colon cleanse has not begun to take effect if this should occur.
