A cappuccino is made with espresso, milk and foam. The drink can be served hot or cold and mixed with a variety of flavors. A French vanilla cappuccino is usually made with either a flavored powder or syrup. Specific nutrition facts may differ slightly, depending on where you purchase the drink or if you choose nonfat or regular milk.


A generic 16-oz French vanilla cappuccino contains 200 calories -- 108 of which are from fat. Moderately active men and women between the ages of 19 and 30 generally need about 2,600 and 2,100 calories each day, respectively, so a 16-oz French vanilla cappuccino provides between 8 and 10 percent of the typical man and woman's daily caloric needs. Calorie requirements may depend on activity level and age.


One 16-oz French vanilla cappuccino may contain 12 g of fat and 8 g of saturated fat. The body needs fat to protect organs, transport vitamins and provide energy, but too much of this nutrient may be detrimental to the cardiovascular system. Saturated fat, in particular, is related to increased blood cholesterol and the risk of heart disease when consumed in excess. Adults should limit saturated fat intake to less than 7 percent of their total caloric intake, according to the American Heart Association. Most adults should strive to consume less than 2,300 mg of sodium each day, and those who have a history of heart disease should aim to limit sodium consumption to less than 1,500 mg each day.
