The skin of a young person is beautiful, healthy, shiny and attractive. The tissue is able to produce enough collagen, elastin, hyaluronic acid and other important elements of the skin to ensure a great deal of elasticity and repairing capabilities. You can prevent wrinkles in your 20s and beyond.
Step 1
Wear sunscreen. Sun exposure causes skin damage, wrinkles and skin cancer. Sun protection is your only prevention. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends that you always seek shade and wear sun protection at all times. A sunscreen with 30 SPF is recommended. Newer sunscreens contain products to block both UVA and UVB rays. Avoid sunbathing; wear a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses and protective clothing.
Step 2
Drink water. Water benefits the skin by acting as an internal moisturizer, keeps the skin moist, clear and supple and prevents premature aging. Water is needed to stay hydrated but it is also important in flushing out waste materials that can contribute to wrinkles. Adult women should drink 2.2 liters, or 8 cups, of water a day.
Step 3
Eat the right foods. What you put in your body shows on your face. Eat foods that have essential fatty acids, such as flaxseed, olive and primrose oils, to maintain proper function of all tissue and tissue repair. Foods high in beta-carotene, such as carrots, apricots and squash, increase cellular regeneration and prevent premature aging. To help with production of elastin and collagen, eat foods high in vitamin C, such as oranges, peppers and kiwi. Vitamin E, which slows the aging of cells, is found in raw nuts and seeds.
Step 4
Clean your face with lukewarm water and a face cleanser every day. Use soap and water, exfoliating cream or a cleanser of your choice. A sonic skin care system is an investment, but it delivers a professional-caliber sonic micro-massage that feels good and makes your skin look great. Never go to bed with makeup on.
Step 5
Use mineral makeup. Mineral makeup gives your skin a youthful look naturally. Mineral makeup is a pure product that contains no dyes, alcohol, perfume, oil, talc or other comedogenic ingredients. Most have a natural SPF component. Not only does it smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but it also will help you prevent them.
Step 6
Use a moisturizer or serum with antioxidants. Excessive exposure to ultraviolet light and the natural aging process deplete the internal supply of antioxidants. Topical applications of antioxidants can provide protection. When using a sunscreen and an antioxidant serum you can prevent the visible signs of photo aging. Use a product for your specific type of skin that is multifunctional, with ingredients that moisturize, protect and exfoliate as they hydrate and promote elasticity. Invest in reputable product to prevent wrinkles and promote healthy looking skin.
Step 7
Avoid smoking or drinking excessive alcohol. Smoking damages collagen and elastin, which will destroy your skin's elasticity and lead to more wrinkles. Do not smoke if you want to prevent wrinkles at any age. Drinking excessive alcohol will dehydrate your skin.
