It also helps with certain enzymes in the body, which, in turn, aid in speeding up cellular functions. Magnesium lactate also helps with bone formation and stability.

Side Effects

Possible side effects of magnesium lactate supplements include diarrhea, bloating, gas or an upset stomach. Taking the supplements with food will decrease the likelihood of diarrhea. Emergency medical attention is needed if any of these allergy symptoms occur.

Overdose Warnings

In some cases, an overdose of magnesium lactate can occur. This happens most frequently if a higher dose than was recommended is consumed, or if the tablet is consumed in a broken or powdered form. It can also happen if a magnesium lactate pill is sucked on rather than swallowed whole. Symptoms of an overdose include extreme drowsiness, blurred vision, difficulty breathing, a feeling of faintness and a slowed heart rate. Emergency medical care is required if any of these symptoms present themselves.
