In Sanskrit, the word "chakras" means invisible, spinning energy wheels that represent a person's energy flow. There are seven chakras in the human body -- from the base of your spine to your forehead -- and if one or more become blocked, your physical or emotional health may be compromised. Therefore, it is important that your own chakras remain clear and unblocked. If they become blocked, there are ways to clear and open chakras.

Step 1

Lie on your back and shake your hands.

Step 2

Open your hands and turn them with your palms facing down. Place one hand on top of the other.

Step 3

Move your arms so that your hands are about 3 or 4 inches from your first chakra, just above your pelvis.

Step 4

Rotate your hands in a circular, counter-clockwise motion for two minutes.

Step 5

Shake your hands out to release energy.

Step 6

Repeat Steps 2 through 5 for the remaining six chakras: at just below your navel, just above your navel, the center of your chest, and your throat, eyebrows and forehead.
