1. Providing a stable and safe home

A parent's primary role is to provide a safe home environment for their children. This does not only mean providing for them financially and making sure they have regular meals. It also encompasses being aware of your children's needs and how they changes as they develop into adulthood. It also means making sure that your children are safe physically and emotionally and being able to judge how much control your need to take over your young children's lives and how gradually to relinquish it as they grow older, though this may be difficult sometimes.

2. Being A Good Role Model

Being a good role model is crucial to bringing up stable and well developed children. Children will have many different role models throughout their lives but their parents are the first and the most important. Young children are very impressionable and they learn to develop and interact by watching and imitating their parents. This is why it is important to behave appropriately in front of your children s that they will learn healthy habits and will develop into happy and secure adults.

3. Teach Your Child Morals and Values

As parents, you are the number one influences in your children's lives. It is your responsibility to provide them with sound morals and ethical values. Perhaps the most important values are honesty and integrity, but you will also need to teach them to be compassionate towards others and to be respectful. You will also need to show them how to be generous and show forgiveness when appropriate.

Parent's need to be emotionally supportive to their children at all times, otherwise you will end up with children who grow up to be insecure and unstable adults that are unable to form successful relationships with other people. During certain periods in your children's lives, they may need more or different kinds of emotional support than at others. One example is during the teenage years. This can be a very emotionally confusing time for children as they are experiencing a range of new feelings and trying to figure out what life means to them.

5. Helping to Develop a Sound Education

Parent's play an important role in their children's education. You can develop a healthy curiosity and an interest in learning in your children from a very early age by reading to them, encouraging them to read and write, and being patient enough to answer their questions. Setting up a space where your children can study and helping them to stay focused and on task when studying at home is important. This will make it easier for them to concentrate in school.
