The face is the first thing you notice when you engage in conversation. Any kind of imperfections that are not hidden with facial hair or make-up can be spotted rather easily. Wrinkles, fine lines and loose skin are all examples of these. Facial exercises can be done to help tone up the facial muscles and make the skin more taut.
Step 1
Utilize your fingers to work your cheeks. Look forward, place your fingers on your cheeks and apply downward pressure. While you are doing this, resist the pressure by smiling as wide as possible. Hold for 5 to 10 seconds, release and repeat 10 to 12 times.
Step 2
Alternate opening and closing your mouth. Look straight ahead and sit in a relaxed position. Open your mouth as wide as you can and hold for one second. Close your mouth and push your lips forward as far as you can. Hold for one second again. Repeat 10 to 12 times.
Step 3
Do a drawing in maneuver. Close your lips but open your jaws. Suck your cheeks in toward each other as far as you can go. Hold for 5 to 10 seconds, release and repeat 10 to 12 times. Make sure to keep your teeth wide enough apart that they will not cut into the insides of your cheeks.
Step 4
Make a large smile. Look straight ahead and close your lips. Make a gigantic smile and draw the corners of your lips toward the back of your head. Keep your mouth closed when you do this. Hold for 5 to 10 seconds, release and repeat 10 to 12 times.
Step 5
Force air into your cheeks to work the muscles. Sit with your lips closed and look straight ahead. Forcefully push air under your bottom lip and hold it there for 5 to 10 seconds. Move the air to your upper lip and hold again for 5 to 10 seconds. Repeat again with your left cheek, right cheek and then whole mouth. Go all the way around four to six times.
