Soybeans are a staple of many types of diets due to their rich nutritional construction. People suffering from high blood pressure can benefit both from the low sodium content of soybeans and the high level of potassium. Those looking to add protein while avoiding meat can eat soybeans, because they have significantly more protein than most other legumes and beans. Migraine suffers may be able to find relief due to the concentration of magnesium in soybeans that has the potential to remedy the associated headaches.

Survival Nutrients

Soybeans are capable of providing all the nutrients necessary for human survival, according to "The Vegetable Bible." The seeds of the soybean are made up of nearly 50 percent protein, 11 percent carbohydrates and 18 percent oil.

Protein

The National Soybean Research Laboratory asserts that soybeans are not only higher in protein levels than other legumes, but that the 40 percent of calories that are derived from protein is higher than is found in many meat products. Soybean protein is not only exceptionally high, it's also very high quality. Soybean protein has the potential to reach the same class as protein you get from meat or milk.

Stress Relief

Soybeans contain healthy levels of folate and calcium along with a small amount of zinc. According to "Prevention Magazine's Nutrition Advisor" this combination of vitamins and minerals has the ability to provide soothing relief during times of stress and nervous anxiety.

Preventing Migraines

Additional levels of magnesium may help in preventing the onset of migraine headaches, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center. One cup of boiled soybeans provides more than 40 percent of the Recommended Daily Allowance of magnesium, according to "Prevention Magazine's Nutrition Advisor." Those suffering from migraines may find relief by adding soybeans and other soy products to their diet.

Isoflavones

Soybeans contain isoflavones, which are phytoestrogen compounds that may have the potential to enhance your body's protection against certain types of cancer. According to scitopics.com, isoflavones may play a part in preventing these diseases.

Gout

Soybeans should not be included in the diet of anyone suffering from gout. These legumes contain moderately high amounts of purines that serve to increase the levels of uric acid. Increased levels of uric acid can bring about an attack of gout.

Soybean Products

Soybeans are an ingredient in a range of soy-based products. These foods still offer the advantages of high protein, low complex carbohydrates and isoflavones. Just a few of these products include egg replacers, soy flour, soy milk, soy sauce and tofu.
