Everyday household and kitchen ingredients can help unclog pores and clear up any acne. Foods like yogurt, honey and cinnamon are ideal for killing bacteria and freeing your pores. Most home remedies for clearing your skin tend to moisturize as they exfoliate, so there's no after-effect of dryness, which usually accompanies many over the counter remedies. Get clear, beautiful skin using natural, low-cost ingredients.
Clay Mask
Step 1
Place 4 tsp. clay, 2 tsp. plain yogurt, 2 drops of tea tree oil and 4 tsp. of water into a bowl. Clay and tee tree oil can be found in most health food stores. Yogurt kills acne-causing bacteria.
Step 2
Mix the ingredients together until a paste forms. Spread the mask onto your face with your fingers. Wash your hands thoroughly before using your fingers to apply the mask.
Step 3
Let the mask sit on your skin for 15 minutes.
Step 4
Rinse the mask off with warm water and a clean washcloth. Apply a light, oil-free moisturizer. Use this mask once per week to help keep your pores unclogged.
Honey Cinnamon Treatment
Step 1
Place 3 tbsp. of honey and 2 tsp. of ground cinnamon into a bowl. Mix the two together thoroughly.
Step 2
Wash your hands. Use your clean fingers to apply the honey mixture to either your entire face or just the affected areas.
Step 3
Leave the mask on your skin for 20 minutes. Wash off with warm water and a clean washcloth. Alternately, leave the mask on overnight for extremely clogged pores.
