For those on a diet or who suffer from diabetes, chocolate can be one of the strongest cravings. Finding a fat-free chocolate candy recipe can prove to be a daunting task, and buying fat-free chocolate candies can become very expensive. The solution to this problem lies in creating a simple homemade fat-free chocolate candy. The recipe can be tweaked to meet a personal preference and create a candy that is specifically your own and caters to your personal taste.

Step 1

Combine the cream cheese, milk and vanilla with a hand mixer at medium speed until it is light and fluffy.

Step 2

Pour 2 cups sugar substitute into the cream cheese. Fold into the mixture until well incorporated.

Step 3

Roll the cream cheese mixture into bite size balls. Place the balls on a sheet pan layered with wax paper. Transfer the sheet pan to a refrigerator to cool for 30 minutes.

Step 4

Heat the paraffin wax, butter substitute, water and cocoa powder in a saucepan on medium heat until the cocoa powder dissolves completely. Add 2 tbsp. sugar substitute and nonfat dried milk to the chocolate.

Step 5

Remove the cheese balls from the refrigerator. Place toothpicks into the top center of each ball, creating a lollipop.

Step 6

Roll each lollipop in the warm chocolate sauce. Replace the balls on the wax paper with the toothpick facing upward. Repeat the process with the remaining cheese balls.

Step 7

Allow the chocolate to set for 30 minutes before serving. Remove the toothpicks and store the remaining candies in an airtight container in a refrigerator.

Tips and Warnings

  • Add coconut and almond extract to the candy for a different taste. Cinnamon also complements the flavor of the chocolate and cream cheese.
