New Balance, a company specializing in fitness gear, features a line of heart rate monitors. These gadgets provide exercisers with feedback, including heart rate zones, performance levels and calories burned. Calories burned are counted in sync with a stopwatch function and are calculated using a person's height, weight, activity level and heart rate. Although this feature is convenient, you may need to reset the calorie counter if you forget to stop it after exercising, if your heart rate stops transmitting properly or if there is a change in your baseline data. You can start with a clean slate in a few steps.
To Reset Calories Burned
Step 1
Press the "MODE" button on the bottom left side of the wrist monitor until the screen displays the stopwatch. Resetting the stopwatch also resets the calories burned.
Step 2
Press and hold the "SET" button on the top left side of the wrist monitor until the stopwatch displays all zeros.
Step 3
Ensure the calories burned are reset. Press the "KCAL" button in the center of the wrist monitor under the screen two times. A zero will appear on the screen.
