Whey protein is a nutrition supplement used by those who are looking to add lean muscle mass or lose weight. Whey protein sold in powder form is available in multiple flavors, including mint chocolate, orange mango and strawberry. Typically, you use the powder to make a protein shake or smoothie. However, add variety to your consumption of whey protein by adding it to your yogurt. The yogurt serves as a base to create a pudding-like dessert that packs a protein punch. One scoop of whey protein powder has 110 calories and 23 g of protein while a plain cup of yogurt has about 130 calories and 6 g of protein.

Step 1

Mix one level scoop of whey protein in a cup with a small amount of water to form a paste to minimize lumps. Stir with a spoon until a smooth paste forms. Use a flavor of whey protein to suit your taste.

Step 2

Add the paste to your yogurt and stir the mixture until you achieve the desired consistency. Use plain or flavored yogurt. Keep in mind that flavored yogurt may have additional calories and nutrients.

Step 3

Experiment with additional ingredients to improve the taste and texture of the whey protein and yogurt mixture. Add nuts, seeds or berries to the mixture. Additional ingredients contribute more nutrients as well as calories.

Tips and Warnings

  • Speak with your health care provider to ascertain if your dietary needs require the inclusion of a protein supplement. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention contends that most people get the requisite amount of protein required per day via their diet without the need for supplements.
