The main muscles worked while walking and running are the glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings, hip flexors, calves and abs.
Eating Habits
Your eating habits are significant in trying to lose weight. Treadmill workouts matter little if you follow a high-calorie diet. To become skinny, cut back on your intake while doing treadmill workouts. Since there are 3,500 calories in a pound, if you reduce your daily intake by 500 calories while burning 500 a day on the treadmill, you will lose about 2 pounds a week. Stick with foods low in saturated fat, sodium and simple sugar like fruits, vegetables, lean meats, fish, whole grains and beans.
