Vitamin B6 is a water-soluble vitamin, meaning the body does not store it in excess. It helps to produce antibodies needed to fight disease; it also aids in the production of neurotransmitters and certain hormones. Some research, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center, suggests that vitamin B6 may help to prevent heart disease. It can be found in a number of dietary sources, including meat, seafood, dairy and some whole grains. Excess vitamin B6 is excreted through the urine. Consult your physician if you feel you have too much of this vitamin in your blood.

Step 1

Drink eight to 12 glasses of water per day. Any extra vitamin B6 is naturally removed from your body through your urine; water helps flush it out.

Step 2

Exercise daily for at least 30 minutes. Exercising causes you to sweat, which helps your body to excrete excess vitamins.

Step 3

Consume a natural diuretic; watermelon or celery are healthy examples of natural diuretics. Some herbs, such as dandelion and ginger, are also believed to be diuretics.

Step 4

Wait. Your body naturally removes any excess vitamin B6 in approximately 8 hours.
