According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, adults should consume between 25 to 30 grams of fiber each day. A diet high in fiber has several benefits including normalizing bowel movements, lowering blood cholesterol, maintaining stable blood sugar levels and aiding in weight loss. You can easily sneak in extra fiber by adding a variety of high-fiber items to your milk.

Step 1

Stir in 2 tablespoons of ground flaxseeds into 8 ounces of regular or chocolate milk. Ground flaxseeds contain 6.6 grams of fiber.

Step 2

Add a serving of an over-the-counter fiber supplement in 8 ounces of milk. These fiber supplements have been prepared to add to drinks without thickening or altering the taste of your beverages.

Step 3

Prepare a smoothie with 8 ounces of milk and your choice of high-fiber fruits, such as strawberries, apricots, dates or prunes. Simply add the fruit to the milk in a blender and blend on high for one to two minutes.
