Shrimp are a popular type of shellfish that have a slightly firm texture. They have a mild flavor and can be used in a variety of dishes. When prepared alone, shrimp can be somewhat bland or boring. Adding a honey coating and grilling the shrimp will bring out the natural sweetness of the shrimp and add extra texture and depth.
Step 1
Place the skewers in warm water and soak for 30 minutes.
Step 2
Whisk together the soy sauce, honey, orange juice, garlic, ginger and pepper in a bowl until well combined.
Step 3
Evenly distribute the shrimp and put on the soaked wooden skewers.
Step 4
Brush both sides of the shrimp with the sauce using a pastry brush.
Step 5
Turn grill on medium heat. Place the skewers on the grill. Cook for five minutes and then flip over. Brush more sauce on the side of the shrimp that has already cooked. Cook for another three to five minutes or until the shrimp are slightly firm to the touch and remove from grill. Brush the shrimp one more time with the sauce. Serve with your favorite side dishes.
