The magic ring also is known as a magic circle. This exercise resistance tool is made of lightweight metal or plastic that bends and flexes as you place pressure on the hand pads. The circle is lightweight, which makes it portable to the gym or on overnight trips. The ring works your chest muscles through the use of pulsating movements against the circle's resistance material.
Chest Press
Step 1
Sit on the edge of a chair with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Straighten your spine. Tighten your stomach by pulling your navel toward your spine. Hold the magic ring in both hands.
Step 2
Extend your arms straight in front of your body and in line with your shoulders. Place your palms on the hand pads. Face both palms toward the center of the circle. Keep your fingers close together and straighten your fingers so only your palms are touching the pads.
Step 3
Press your palms toward each other to compress the circle. Use a small range of motion and a quick pace.
Step 4
Breathe in for two pushes and breathe out for two pushes. Continue the breathing pattern as you perform 20 to 40 chest presses.
Step 5
Add arm movement as your strength and technique improve. Begin the chest press with your arms extended. Bend your elbows out to the sides and bring the ring toward your chest as you breathe in twice. Straighten your elbows and return to start position as you breathe out twice. Complete five sets.
