Boneless, skinless, seasoned chicken breasts offer a convenient source of lean protein. A 3-ounce serving of baked chicken breast contains 142 calories, 27 grams of protein and 3 grams of fat, according to the USDA. Because all the prep work is already done with this type of chicken, you can get a home-cooked meal on the table in under 30 minutes. Just pop the chicken breasts in the oven and allow them to bake while you cook some quinoa and toss a salad.

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 2

Spray a shallow baking pan with nonstick spray. Arrange the boneless, skinless, seasoned chicken breasts in the pan.

Step 3

Bake the chicken breasts for 17 to 20 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit and the juices run clear. Use an instant-read thermometer to check the temperature after 17 minutes because you don’t want to overcook the chicken breasts, which leads to tough and dry chicken.

Things You'll Need

  • Shallow baking pan
  • Nonstick cooking spray
