Facial hair for men is almost a right of passage, but genetics can play a large role in how fast facial hair grows. Depending on your testosterone levels, facial hair can grow in spots, or barely grow at all. There are steps that can be taken to ensure thicker and quicker facial hair growth, although your genetics and skin will still play a major role in how well these steps will work for you.
Step 1
Stop shaving. Shaving will not make hair grow back in quicker and the hairs on your face grow at different rates. Not shaving will allow slower hairs to catch up to the rest.
Step 2
Take 2.5 mg of biotin daily to promote facial hair growth and shorten growing time. Biotin has been shown to assist with faster, better hair growth, as well as hair health.
Step 3
Massage your face for at least five minutes daily. This will increase blood flow and stimulate the hair follicles.
Step 4
Rinse your face with cold water after cleansing. The cold water will also increase blood flow to the area and stimulate hair follicles as well as unclog the follicles of bacteria that may be inhibiting hair growth.
Step 5
Apply an over-the-counter testosterone cream. These topical creams will increase hormonal levels, and speed up the hair growth process.
Tips and Warnings
- Consider talking to your doctor if you cannot attain hair growth after trying at home remedies. You may have a testosterone imbalance and require medication to even your hormone levels.
- Do not use chemicals such as hair dye on your growing facial hair. It can inhibit growth on the face and is only intended for facial use on those who already have desired max hair growth.
