Momofuku Ando first created instant chicken ramen noodles for his family-run Japanese company Nissin Foods in 1958. He realized the key to preserving fresh noodles was to dehydrate them through flash-frying, giving consumers the option of reconstituting the noodles later with boiling water. Nissin Foods now enjoys over $ 3.2 billion in net sales and their instant noodle products are sold worldwide in 11 different countries. Top Ramen Shrimp Noodles is one of Nissin Food's most popular instant ramen noodle flavors.
The Basics
Top Ramen Shrimp Noodles are inexpensive and often eaten by college students and others who want a cheap and easy meal. Instant ramen can also form a base for more elaborate dishes, like chilled noodle soup, or be used as a side dish for roasted seafood.
To make standard ramen noodles, just add the noodles to boiling water and wait 3 minutes. You can then add the seasoning mix to flavor the soup, and additional ingredients such as chicken, egg and diced vegetables. To reduce sodium, use less of the seasoning mix or add your own salt-free seasoning instead.
Noodle Ingredients
Each package of Top Ramen Shrimp Noodles contains a bulk parcel of dried noodles and a packet of seasoning mix. The ramen noodles contain enriched wheat flour, vegetable oil, salt, sodium tripolyphosphate, potassium carbonate, sodium carbonate, and sodium alginate. Ramen noodles are prefried at the factory.
