While browsing on the Internet, you may notice some of the great deals offered to online shoppers. When you shop online, you place your order through the business's website and the products are delivered either to your home or the store for pick up. Most businesses accept credit cards to pay for your online purchases. However, you can still shop online without a credit card.
Step 1
Set up an online payment account. Companies like PayPal allow you to make online payments by setting up an account with them. You will link your bank account to your PayPal account, and anything you buy online will be deducted directly from your bank balance. The merchant is typically charged a fee per transaction when using PayPal (see Resources below).
Step 2
Purchase a prepaid credit card. Prepaid cards are available from Visa, MasterCard and American Express. These cards work in the same manner as regular credit cards, and can be used to make payments to online merchants. Keep in mind that you do have to pay a one-time fee in order to purchase a prepaid credit card.
Step 3
Pay for online merchandise with your ATM card. Most ATM cards carry the Visa or MasterCard logo. This means you can use the ATM card to make purchases anywhere that Visa or MasterCard is accepted. During checkout, you will input your card details, and the money to pay for the item will be deducted from your bank account.
Step 4
Look for online stores that have a Bill Me Later option. During checkout, you will be instructed to give the last four digits of your social security number and your birth date. If your credit is good, you will receive a bill at a later date to pay for the online merchandise. You do have to pay interest on the merchandise when using the Bill Me Later service.
