The Wave is a popular fitness program that is produced by a company called
Gaiam Productions, which specializes in workout videos. Gaiam produced a popular line of fitness videos called the FIRM, which included "Rock Hard Abs" and "Rock Hard Arms." The Wave is an offshoot of that program, and its goal is to help the user lose weight, gain strength and build agility, endurance and flexibility.

Dual-Sided Exercise Platform

The Wave is similar to an exercise step in that you can do stepping movements that allegedly build up your legs, hips, abs and core muscles. However, you can also turn it over, and the device allegedly can be used for balance, agility and endurance. The Wave is promoted as a 20- to 30-minute workout that can serve as the equivalent of a home gym.

Core Workout

One of the primary functions of the Wave is as an ab workout device. The WAVE will allow you to do several rocking steps that allow you to work out your abs and obliques. By keeping your balance when you rock back and forth, you allegedly can get a full core workout that can allow you to lose weight and trim down.

DVD Instructions

The Wave program comes with an instructional DVD that includes an instructor who explains each exercise, demonstrates the exercise, then shows how the exercise is done within the context of the workouts. The Wave comes with several different exercise routines, and all of them allegedly help build strength, burn fat and increase endurance.

Weight-Loss Program

In addition to providing an exercise device and several exercise routines, the Wave comes with a weight-loss guide, which not only includes several days of healthy menus, but also elaborates on why the diets work and how they work better when they are followed while you are doing a core workout that also burns fat, such as the Wave.
