Jiffy Treet is one of the staples of the Indiana University community. If you are a student at the Big Ten university, chances are you have made several trips to this famed ice cream shop. Jiffy Treet features ice cream that often reaches the super premium level, which means a high fat content and very little air. It also offers low sugar and low carbohydrate products.

Menu Items

Jiffy Treet is in Bloomington, Indiana, near the Indiana University campus. Some of the featured menu items include the cyclone, frozen yogurt, soft-serve ice cream, home made ice cream and specialty sundaes. Those sundaes are the signature items and include the banana splits, the turtle sundae, the chocolate lover's sundae and fried ice cream.

High Quality Ice Cream

Jiffy Treet offers "superpremium" quality ice cream, as labeled by the International Dairy Foods Association, as well as a variety of low-fat products. The IDFA defines superpremium quality ice cream as containing at least 14 percent milk fat.

Other Products

Jiffy Treet offers a variety of low-fat and nonfat products. According to the IDFA, low-fat ice cream contains a maximum of 3 grams of total fat per serving and nonfat ice cream contains less than half a gram of total fat per serving. The IDFA defines a serving as half a cup.

Awards

Jiffy Treet was voted the "Best of Bloomington" in 2010 by the Indiana Daily Student newspaper.
