What Is Propo-N/APAP?

Propo-N/APAP, also known as propoxyphene napsylate with acetaminophen, is a medication used to treat mild to moderate pain, says Drugs.com. Your doctor will determine your dose based upon your pain and body size.

Warning

According to the National Library of Medicine, you should not use this medication if you allergic to acetaminophen or propoxyphene. You should not take this drug if you suffer from asthma or breathing problems. Doing so can lead to its side effects.

Side Effects

Drugs.com says that Propo-N/APAP's side effects include vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness and nausea.

Overdose

According to the National Library of Medicine, overdosing on Propo-N/APAP is dangerous and can potentially lead to death within the first hour of consumption.

Drug Interactions

Propo-N/APAP can interact with alcohol and lead to hepatotoxicity (liver damage). It can also interact with such medications as lamotrigine and anticholinerics and decrease their effectiveness.

Dependence

According to Drugs.com, you may become dependent on Propo-N/APAP if you take excessive amounts of it for a long time.
