1. Respect Your Arms
Along with a daily exercise routine, stretching before and after your workout provides multiple health benefits. Although a lot of people remember to stretch their leg muscles, they often forget about their arms. Stretching your arms is extremely important as arms are used daily for many activities, and stress builds up not only in the neck, back and shoulder areas but also in the arms.
2. Healthy Arms
Especially if you're a bodybuilder or an athlete who your arms a lot in sports, you should be stretching out your arms regularly. People who work a lot with their hands and arms should also stretch them. Stretching your arms gives muscles flexibility as well as strength and helps prevent injuries, such as muscle pulls and tears.
3. Arm Stretching on the Go
You can stretch your arms anywhere. If you leave the gym or sports field and forget to stretch your arms, it's easy to do stretches in a car, at home or even in the office. You don't need equipment for stretching your arms; you just have to remember to do it wherever you are. Don't worry if people stare; they'll soon realize they should be stretching out their arms too.
4. Arm Stretching Habit
It's easier to remember to stretch your arms if you make it part of your regular exercise routine. Start with stretching your arms over your head before you start any other stretching or exercise practice. From there, complete various arm stretches, making sure to include different muscles in the arms. End your daily workout with the same arm stretch routine. If you end the same way you start each day, you'll get into the habit of stretching your arms.
5. Arm Stretching for Beginners
Stretch out connected neck and back muscles while stretching your arms. After stretching your arms overhead, try crossing one arm at a time straight across your chest and then gently pulling it across further with your opposite arm and hand. Feel the tension release from your upper arm, shoulder, neck and back. Stretch the back of your upper arm by reaching up over and behind your neck to touch your upper back with your hand. Don't forget about stretching out your lower arms too. With a straight arm and palm facing up, gently pull your fingers and hand down to feel a stretch in your lower arm muscles, wrist and hand. The main thing to remember is to stretch arms in all directions, and keep in mind that deep breathing during stretching helps muscles relax and benefits your entire body.
