The Sedona Method helps people release their suppressed anger and emotions to find inner peace by using several thought techniques. Hale Dwoskin, co-founder of Sedona Training Associates, states that the Sedona Method has helped him and many others find freedom from emotional pain as well as increased health, wealth and overall happiness.

History

Lester Levenson founded the Sedona Method. He held the first seminar in Sedona, Arizona, in 1974. According to information from Sedona.com, Lester Levenson created the Sedona Method after falling seriously ill in 1952 and searching his inner self to improve his outlook. Hale Dwoskin met Lester in 1976, two years after Lester began holding seminars on the Sedona Method. After a lifelong friendship between them, Hale has carried on teaching the method after Lester's death in 1994.

Significance

Hale Dwoskin calls the Sedona Method an "effective tool for both individual and corporate effectiveness and wellness." In addition to the thousands of individuals who have benefited, according to Sedona.com, executives from Exxon, AT&T, Merrill Lynch, J.C. Penney, Marriott Hotels, FAA, Bristol Myers, Chemical Bank, Chase Manhattan Bank, Polaroid, Bull, Lever Brothers, Monsanto, Touche Ross, and Mutual of New York have participated in The Sedona Method Course.

Availability

Live seminars of the Sedona Method are held in many major U.S. cities as well as in Europe, Australia and Canada. An at-home course utilizing CD and DVD presentations can be purchased online from Hale Dwoskin's website at Sedona.com as well. The self-help audio course with DVD presentation is priced at $388 in 2009 and has a 180-day money-back guarantee.

Benefits

According to Trans4mind.com, the Sedona Method techniques teach people to let go of feelings associated with their pasts. This allows the thoughts associated with those feelings to dissipate, which is especially beneficial for those who have painful feelings and memories associated with childhood. The process helps dissipate inhibitions or limitations that have resulted from the memories.

Misconceptions

While Lester Levenson was said to have been healthier than ever before during his creation of the Sedona Method, it is not intended to treat or cure physical illness. The purpose is to help people find peace within themselves and to be fully in the present moment. The Sedona Method is not a brainwashing technique or affiliated with any religious group. According to Sedona.com, the techniques are in harmony with all religions.
