5 Things You Need to Know About Funky Door Yoga

1. Intro to Funky

Funky Door Yoga has three locations in San Francisco, California, area. All the studios have showers and lockers available to their patrons. There are mats and towels on site if you do not have your own. They do not offer any beginners class in Bikram yoga. The classes mix beginners with advanced students, and they are warm, so dress like you are going to the beach for a Funky Door yoga class. Do not eat before coming to any yoga class, and be prepared to sweat if you take a class at one of the Funky Door yoga centers. All the instructors are certified Bikram yoga instructors.

2. Bikram Yoga

Bikram yoga is the form of yoga taught at each Funky Door location. Bikram consists of 26 poses in a typical 90-minute class. The poses work together to return the body to a balanced state. Each class of Bikram Yoga attempts the following: to eliminate toxins, reinforce the immune system, improve the strength of the circulatory system, expand lung capacity and build energy, stamina and flexibility.

3. Berkeley Funky Door

The Funky Door has one location in Berkeley, California. The classes from Monday through Friday begin at 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. Weekend classes begin at 7 a.m., and the last class is offered at 6 p.m. There is free parking behind the studio. New students need to arrive 10 minutes before their first class begins. All classes are 90 minutes long.

4. Haight-Ashbury Funky Door

Another location for the Funky Door Yoga classes is in the Haight-Ashbury district, San Francisco. Monday and Friday classes start at 8 a.m., and the last class is at 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday classes, begin at 7 a.m. and run throughout the day, concluding with the last class at 8 p.m. The first class offering on Saturday and Sunday is at 9 a.m., and the final class is at 6 p.m each day. You can park in the Kezar Parking lot on Stanyan Street. There is a bike rack available for cyclist. New students need to arrive 10 minutes before their first class begins. All classes are 90 minutes long.

5. Midtown Funky Door

The third location for Funky Door Yoga is in Midtown San Francisco. Monday through Friday classes start at 6 a.m. and run until the last class offering at 8 p.m. On Friday, there is no 8 p.m. class. Saturday and Sunday classes start at 8 a.m. and culminate with the last class offering at 5 p.m. There are two places to park in the garages located on Bush and Polk Streets. You can bring your bike inside the building at this location. New students need to arrive 10 minutes before their first class begins. All classes are 90 minutes long.
