Gift-Giving Ideas for Teenagers From Teenagers

When a teenager is giving another teenager a gift, certain obstacles might get in the way. The first is money. You might not have a ton of cash to spend on holiday and birthday gifts for your friend, particularly if you have many friends. You also have to remember the unique personality, likes and dislikes of your friend. Think of your friend's personality and save money to get a gift she'll love.

Concert Tickets

Most teenagers will jump at the chance to go see one of their favorite bands in person, and although a front-row ticket might be too expensive, he may be just as excited for much less expensive lawn seating. Giving an experience rather than an item is like giving the gift twice--once when it's presented and another when the concert date arrives. Just make sure to get yourself a ticket in the process so that he has someone to go with.

Homemade Gifts

To find a good gift, you don't need to head to the mall. You can make a gift yourself for something more meaningful. Making her a mix CD of some of her favorite songs would be a good choice for a music lover, and a large photo collage would be a good gift for someone who values her friends over anything else. Even a poster shows the hard work you've put into the gift; although it doesn't cost anything, she might be more impressed.

Gift Cards

Gift cards are always a please for fickle teenagers, and even if you are strapped for cash, a $5 gift card to his favorite coffee shop or comic book store would be more than enough to purchase something. Gift cards are ideal for teenagers to give to other teenagers because you're allowing them to choose their own perfect gift and the pressure is removed from you.

Electronics Accessories

If your best friend is obsessed with his Xbox, or you never see him without his iPod, purchasing accessories for his electronics is an inexpensive way to enhance his experience. Speakers for ipod can be as inexpensive as $20 and can easily plug into his existing unit. Games for his console can be found on sale; just make sure to get a two-player game so you can challenge him to a game.

Surprise Party

A surprise party where you invite all of your friends to celebrate can keep your friend guessing. Set up a scavenger hunt to get her to the venue or home where it is being held, and make all of the arrangements for the party as your gift to her. You're rewarded by hosting a night that she won't soon forget, and it's a good way to gather all of your friends for a cause.
