How to Get Rid of Bad Breath Quickly

Bad breath is embarrassing, and you want to get rid of it as quickly as possible. There are numerous causes of bad breath: dehydration, following a low-carb diet, fragrant food and poor oral hygiene. Taking care of your teeth through regular brushing and flossing can help permanently get rid of bad breath. However, there are a few quick fixes you can employ to banish halitosis. If you suffer from chronic bad breath, you should make an appointment with your doctor to rule out a medical reason like liver disease.

Step 1

Drink some water. If your mouth is feeling dry, this could be the reason for your bad breath. A quick way to resolve the issue is to chug down 8 ounces or more of cold water. Continue to drink water throughout the day to prevent further incidences of bad breath.

Step 2

Use a toothbrush to clean your tongue. The tongue harbors most of the bacteria that causes bad breath. If your toothbrush isn't handy, use a spoon or another object to clean your tongue of any food particles.

Step 3

Pop in a piece of gum. Chewing gum can help stimulate your body to produce saliva. Since dry mouth can often cause bad breath, this can be an easy fix. Choose a cinnamon-flavored brand, since this is the most effective type of gum to get rid of bad breath quickly. Choose a sugarless version to chew in order to maintain good oral health.

Step 4

Rinse your mouth with a small amount of mouthwash. Mouthwash use is a good technique to mask the bad breath quickly. There are dissolvable mouthwash strips available that you can bring along with you. You place the strip on your tongue, and your breath will be freshened instantly. The results may not be long lasting, but it can help in a jam.
