Less Serious Side Effects

These effects may include drowsiness, dizziness, restlessness, nausea, upset stomach, insomnia or trouble concentrating. eMedTV explains that these effects occur between 5 and 12 percent of the time. The website identifies other effects that occur between 1 and 4 percent of the time as excitability, anger, hostility, blurred vision, diarrhea, muscle aches, muscle pains, numbness, burning, tingling, sweating or clamminess.
Serious Side Effects
Some side effects may require medical attention as they can be harmful or indicate an underlying issue triggered by the use of BuSpar. Drugs.com lists these serious side effects as rapid or uneven heart rate, depression, unusual thoughts, unusual behavior, lack of balance or coordination, or feeling faint. Other serious hazards reported by eMedTV include involuntary movements of the body or face, hallucinations or suicidal thoughts. It is possible to suffer from an allergic reaction to BuSpar. Drugs.com warns that allergy symptoms include hives, unusual swelling and trouble breathing.
Rare Effects
Fewer than 1 percent of users reported these rare side effects of BuSpar, according to eMedTV: high or low blood pressure, unusual taste in the mouth, gas, appetite changes, menstrual changes, wetting the bed, shortness of breath, chest congestion, bloody nose, sexual problems, bruising easily, hair loss, weight loss or gain, and/or acne.
