Excess facial hair in women is an unfortunate circumstance that comes with getting older. Although it does not propose a major health risk, it can cause a feeling of self consciousness and lead the recipient to a removal method. If this pertains to you, there are several effective methods you can use. Some of which are short term fixes while others can be permanent.
Step 1
Speak to a laser hair removal technician about this unique method. In this procedure, a laser gets shined onto your face and it targets the melanin that gives your hair its color. Once it gets hit with the beam, the hair follicles die and the hair falls out. This treatment can have your face hair-free for six or more months.
Step 2
Get zapped with a fine pointed needle by a licensed electrologist to remove facial hair. Electrolysis is a procedure where the needle gets inserted into each hair follicle and an electric charge gets sent to the tip. The follicle then dies and the hair falls out. This can cause permanent hair removal.
Step 3
Use a pair of tweezers to pluck the hairs out. Grasp the hairs one at a time close to the skin. Pull them straight out in a slow and steady motion. Do not yank on them as this can cause the hairs to break off. This removal can last for several weeks.
Step 4
Rip the hair out with wax to be hair free for four to six weeks. Apply the wax with the applicator stick in the direction of growth. Let it set up and flatten out the cloth strip over top of it. Place your fingers on your face right above the strip and grab the edge with your other hand. Pull downward in a fast motion to remove the hair and wax.
Step 5
Remove the hair by using a depilatory cream that is safe for the face. Wash your face with warm water or run a warm wash cloth over the area where you want to remove the hair. Apply the cream and allow it to set for the recommendation by the manufacturer. Wipe off the hair with a damp wash cloth. This hair removal can last for a couple weeks.
Step 6
Apply a hair inhibitor to your skin one to two times a day after you have removed the hair with another method. These come in a cream or gel and they help slow down or completely stop the regrowth of hair.
