1. Sip Some Chamomile
Treat heartburn with chamomile essential oil. Chamomile has been used for centuries to ease heartburn. Sipping chamomile tea helps ease heartburn and indigestion. A small towel soaked in chamomile tea and placed on the abdomen can also help. Chamomile is known to reduce stress, which can be a cause of indigestion and heartburn. While chamomile essential oil can be expensive, chamomile tea is one of the least expensive methods to treat stomach disorders.
2. Drop In Some Peppermint
You can use peppermint essential oil in aromatherapy for digestive issues. Though peppermint can cause irritation when used orally, when compressed or coated, it is ideal for digestion. You can rub peppermint essential oil onto your abdomen to relieve heartburn, or you can also add one or two drops of peppermint essential oil to chamomile tea. There is also a peppermint tea available at most health food stores and larger grocery stores.
3. Rub on Some Ginger and Anise
Ginger and anise essential oils are also known for their digestive properties. You can use these by the drop in teas, such as chamomile tea, or purchase ginger or anise tea separate, which can be found at most health food stores. You can rub essential oils on your stomach to aid in heartburn relief. When using this method, be sure to do a skin patch test before hand by taking a drop, applying it to the skin and checking for a reaction. Some people may have an allergic reaction to essential oils.
