Introduction
The concept of detoxification refers to the process of releasing chemical impurities from the body. There are many methods of detoxification; however, one of the most commonly used methods is the ionic cleansing technique. Detoxification foot baths are based on the ionic cleansing technique, and can often be very effective at removing toxins from the body.
How It Works
A detoxification foot bath is composed of an array (powered by electricity), a tub and water. The array is made up of special metals that react with the salinity of the water to generate ions. Ions are molecules that have charges due to an unequal number of protons and electrons. The water molecules housing these ions consist of two elements, hydrogen and oxygen. The negatively charged ions neutralize the positively charged molecules found in water. As the feet soak, the rest of the body goes through a cleansing process by way of a process known as osmosis: the released ions in the water enter into the feet and are transported throughout the body.
Ionic Process
Once these ions enter the body, they begin energizing all the other cells that they come in contact with. This gives these cells enough energy to start releasing the toxins trapped within them. These toxins can be released in the form of fat, oil, heavy metal waste or cellular debris that may have built up over a lifetime. The water in the foot bath will become murky and colored from the presence of this residual matter. This technique helps in providing a healthy means of detoxifying the body, while also stabilizing the body's pH to a healthy level. These foot baths can assist in warding off parasitic worms, bacteria and even chemicals like nicotine from the system.
