Acne is the result of pores in your skin that become clogged with sebum. This oily substance is produced by sebaceous glands which can become overactive, especially during adolescence. Acne can produce inflamed pustules which may cause scarring when they rupture. However, you may also be able to treat mild acne scars with natural remedies.
Step 1
Clean your skin with a mild soap to remove oil and foreign material such as makeup and dirt.
Step 2
Use olive oil. You can find 100-percent pure olive oil at most major grocery stores, and it may be effective at clearing the scars caused by acne. Apply olive oil to acne scars as often as five times per day.
Step 3
Try vitamin E oil. Capsules of pure vitamin E are available at health and beauty supply stores as well as grocery stores. Break a capsule open and rub the oil into the skin.
Step 4
Try rose hip seed oil. This oil is primarily available at beauty supply and health stores. Rub rose hip seed oil on your acne scars twice each day for a prolonged period.
Step 5
Use lemon juice. Cut a lemon in half and squeeze all the juice from both halves into a bowl. Pour a cup of water into the bowl and stir thoroughly to create a dilute solution of lemon juice. Place a washcloth in the solution and allow it to soak up the lemon juice. Wring out the washcloth and press it against the acne scars for a few minutes. Repeat this procedure once per day.
