Blackheads can pop up anywhere, on your nose, chin, cheeks--even your ears. Blackheads in the ear are more difficult to remove, and when attempting removal, you must be very careful. Blackheads that are deep in the ear should not be removed at home; however, ear surface blackheads can be easily dealt with.
Step 1
Wash the affected area with a mild exfoliating facial wash. Only use a small amount of wash to avoid getting it into your ear canal. Blot dry with a towel.
Step 2
Dip your cotton swab into the rubbing alcohol, making sure to remove any excess dripping. Place the alcohol swab on the blackhead. This will dissolve the blockage.
Step 3
Apply gentle pressure to the base of the blackhead using the closed end of your hair pin or safety pin. This should bring the blockage to the surface, allowing you to scrape it out with the pin.
Step 4
Apply a little more alcohol to the opened pore with a clean swab. This will clean out the rest of the bacteria that may have stayed behind.
Step 5
Wash the area again with your face wash and blot dry. Once you are finished, apply a moisturizer, ideally one that contains alpha hydroxy acids. These acids minimize pores and help prevent bacterial intrusion.
