How to Get Rid of Pimple Scarring

Pimple scarring is a condition caused by the repeated popping of acne blemishes on the skin. While the pain and inflammation can lead people to pick or pop their pimples, doing so can leave skin discolorations that can take weeks or even months to fully diminish. Scarred skin caused by pimples is typically tougher than the surrounding skin, and therefore requires special care in order to loosen the scarred tissue, exfoliating the scarred tissue, and revitalizing the underlying skin in order to bring the complexion back into balance.

Step 1

Loosen the scarred tissue by applying jojoba oil and heat. Pour 1 tbsp. of jojoba oil into the palms, and rub them together. Spread the oil over the skin evenly, and massage it in deeply with the fingertips. After two minutes, leave the oil sitting on the skin for an additional five minutes to further loosen the scarred tissue. Soak a washcloth in steaming hot water, and wring it out. Drape the towel over the face, which will force the heat and steam onto the skin. After the cloth cools down, repeat the process of heating and wringing the towel, and place it onto the face for a second time. Once the cloth cools again, use it to wipe away the remaining oil. Apply a jojoba oil facial three times per week, which effectively softens and loosens scarred skin.

Step 2

Exfoliate the scarred tissue by applying a gentle skin scrub. In a small bowl, mix together 1 tbsp. of baking soda, 1 tbsp. of honey and 1 tsp. of raw oats. Spread the mixture onto the face, massaging it in using circular motions. After two to three minutes, rinse off the mixture using warm water. Apply an exfoliating scrub three times every week after loosening the scarred tissue. Exfoliation helps remove dead and discolored skin.

Step 3

Revitalize the underlying skin using a toner high in Vitamin C, such as lemon juice. Pour 8 oz. of concentrated lemon juice into an empty spray bottle. After the scarred skin has been loosened and exfoliated, spray the skin liberally with the concentrated lemon juice. Allow the juice to dry onto the skin, and reapply the lemon juice up to three times per day. Vitamin C helps the skin rebuild new cells, aiding skin in becoming more balanced and helping the complexion remain evenly toned.
