How to Give a Man a Foot Massage

There are many benefits of foot massage. According to Harvard Health Publications, foot massages can alleviate foot pain and tension, improve blood circulation and stimulate the muscles. If the man in your life is experiencing stress or foot pain you can help by giving him a foot massage. Giving a man a foot massage can help develop your bond with him and increase intimacy. According to a study by California State University, Fullerton, touch increases martial satisfaction. Giving a foot massage is one of the many ways you can use touch to improve your relationship.

Step 1

Ask the man to sit in a comfortable chair or lay down on a bed, couch or even the floor.

Step 2

Rest his leg on your thigh, a few pillows or anything comfortable to keep his leg elevated. This will allow you full access to the foot so you can give an effective massage.

Step 3

Pour a small amount of lotion or oil into the palm of your hands. Rub the lotion or oil into the man's entire foot. Include the heel, arch, toes and top of the foot. Massage the foot gently as you rub in the oil or lotion. This will begin to stimulate the muscles and improve blood flow.

Step 4

Begin to massage the foot more deeply. Tell the man to tell you if this is painful so you can stop. Knead the bottom of the foot with your knuckles. Focus on the arch of the foot.

Step 5

Focus on the toes. Gently pull them apart and, gently, rub in between them. Push them up and down lightly to stretch the muscles of the foot.

Step 6

Repeat with the other foot.
