Acne scars are the marks on your skin that remain after acne has dried up. Acne is one of the most common skin diseases and the cause of most dermatological complaints. This skin condition can affect anyone regardless of age and gender. Acne is caused when skin pores become clogged with bacteria and sebum. Sebum is a natural oily substance that makes hair and skin resistant to water. If left untreated, acne scars can darken over time, causing skin discoloration. Innumerable remedies are used in treating acne, such as creams and medications. However, there are also all-natural remedies such as honey, which contains potent skin-healing properties. When applied properly, honey can be as effective as using a scar removal cream.
Step 1
Pour half a cup of honey in a blender with one cucumber, and puree. Transfer the mixture to a clean bowl and set aside. The cucumber will help gradually remove the acne scars while tightening your pores.
Step 2
Prepare and soften your skin by taking a 10- to 15-minute hot shower. Use a moisturizing liquid or bar soap to cleanse your skin. Avoid soaps that can dry your skin like antimicrobial soaps or glycerin bars.
Step 3
Massage the honey mixture directly into the affected areas and leave on for 30 minutes to dry.
Step 4
Rub an ice cube on the affected areas after applying the honey mixture. Do this for five to 10 minutes. The ice will help enhance the moisturizing effects of the honey while fading the acne scars.
Step 5
Wash your skin with moisturizing soap after rinsing off the honey mixture. Apply this remedy once a day. Using this honey remedy on a daily basis will fade acne scars in about two to three months.
