How to Reduce the Appearance of Neck Bands

Skin undergoes many changes throughout our life, and there are many factors that play a role in skin changes. Neck bands can be a result of rapid weight gain or loss, or can be a result of aging. In both cases, skin tends to lose elasticity, opening the way for fine lines and deep-set wrinkles. A consistent skin care regimen can help reduce this form of wrinkles, or you can have procedures done to help remove them.

Step 1

Visit your dermatologist or local day spa for a chemical skin peel. Chemical peels remove the outer layer of dead skin cells, exposing fresh skin and promoting collagen regeneration in the skin.

Step 2

Purchase a dermal filler. You can buy dermal fillers at drugstores. These products imitate the effects of collagen, smoothing out the skin and plumping it. Your doctor or dermatologist can also prescribe dermal fillers.

Step 3

Wash your neck daily with a good exfoliating cleanser. Exfoliating will remove dead skin cells and stimulate circulation to your neck. Circulation increase will help plump the skin out and repair elasticity.

Step 4

Apply a daily moisturizer containing retinol. Retinol is a pure form of vitamin A that promotes collagen cells to form and fill in skin indentations and wrinkles.
