How to Get Baby Soft Skin

Baby soft skin is the result of skin that is well moisturized, exfoliated and nourished. Skin is the largest organ in our body. Many people neglect it by skipping important actions that would promote its health. Spas provide treatments such as facials, body scrubs and body wraps that leave the skin feeling soft, but these services come with a hefty price tag. To achieve healthy, baby soft skin at home can be done by following a few techniques that will fit into any budget.

Step 1

Take a warm shower, not a hot one. Hot showers strip your body's natural oils from your skin, pulling out the moisture necessary to create baby soft skin.

Step 2

Exfoliate your body while in the shower by using a loofah or an exfoliating body scrub. Exfoliate your entire body (avoiding the neck and face for now) by massaging gently in a circular motion with the loofah or body scrub. Exfoliating will remove the dead skin cells, leaving your skin soft and smooth. Rinse your body thoroughly.

Step 3

Exfoliate your face and neck with a facial exfoliator. Be gentle, applying the exfoliator in an upward, sweeping motion. Avoid using heavy pressure that can damage your skin. Rinse your face thoroughly.

Step 4

Towel dry your face and body thoroughly after getting out of the shower.

Step 5

Apply a moisturizing lotion all over your body. Avoid products containing mineral oil that can clog your pores, leading to acne and sometimes allergic reactions. Massage the lotion into the skin. Do not neglect areas of your body, such as your back and feet.

Step 6

Apply a facial moisturizer all over your face and neck. Choose a moisturizer for your particular skin type. If you have oily skin, it is best to use an oil-free moisturizer. For dry or very dry skin, you will need a heavier moisturizer that will continue to deliver moisture to your skin over time.

Step 7

Continue to apply moisturizing lotion to your body and face on a daily basis, especially during the winter. Exfoliation can be repeated weekly or twice a week. It should not be done every day because it is too harsh for a daily treatment.

Things You'll Need

  • Full body exfoliating product (loofah or body scrub)
  • Moisturizing body lotion
  • Facial moisturizer
