How to Brighten Skin Naturally

Brightening your skin can give you the look of contentedness and beauty. Daily damage to your skin from environmental toxins and stress can lessen that effect, making you look tired and older. To have brighter skin, you must follow a daily skin care regimen that addresses removal of dead skin cells and pore cleansing.

Step 1

Exfoliate your face with a gentle exfoliating face wash in the morning and evening. Exfoliants will remove dead skin cells and expose the fresher skin underneath. It will also unclog pores, giving you a cleaner and brighter look.

Step 2

Apply a moisturizer after every cleansing. Vitamin E and Vitamin K moisturizers are ideal for skin brightening as they promote healthy skin and rejuvenation. Vitamin K is also attributed with skin lightening and will fade pesky blemishes and dark spots.

Step 3

Prepare a facial mask of 1 tsp. honey, 1/2 mashed mango and avocado, 1 tbsp. oatmeal, 1 tbsp. milk, 1 tsp. aloe vera gel and one egg white. Mix your ingredients well and apply to the face, leaving on for 15 minutes. Wash the mask off with cold water and allow it to air dry. Do this two to three times a week and always follow with moisturizer.

Step 4

Drink at least eight glasses of water per day. Keeping your skin hydrated from the inside out will make it look brighter and younger by flushing out toxins and bad bacteria.

Step 5

Eat foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids. Fish, eggs and green leafy vegetables are all a good choice and contain healthy amounts of omega-3. These fatty acids support blood vessel health and circulation. Proper blood flow increases skin health and vitality.

Tips and Warnings

  • Always wash your face with cold water. Hot water dries the skin and can give it a dull appearance.
