3 Ways to Rate Your Hunger on the Best of Life Scale

1. I Can't Eat Another Bite

Rate your hunger on the Best of Life scale consistently to keep from overeating. To lose weight, understand when your body is telling you that you are full. The author supplies a rating scale of 10 categories to rate your hunger on the Best of Life Diet. Feeling stuffed, very uncomfortably full and uncomfortably full are number 10, 9 and 8, respectively. Number 7 is just "full." You should stop eating before you feel even slightly uncomfortable. You have overeaten if you feel bloated, need to unbutton your pants or feel sick. Good ways to prevent overeating are eating slowly and chewing deliberately. You should have an idea of how much you should eat and only serve yourself that much. Take a few minutes before getting a second serving to make sure you are truly still hungry. Drink water before a meal to keep yourself from eating more than you intend.

2. Just Right

Numbers 6 and 5 on the scale are perfectly comfortable and comfortable, respectively. You want to strive for this range. The more you are eating to a level of appropriate comfort the more you will be able to change your eating methods for life. It may take awhile to find this level if you are used to eating in excess. Everybody overeats now and then. Make an effort to be conscious of what being satisfied feels like for you and work toward that feeling at every meal.

3. To the Other Extreme

Being able to lose weight depends on keeping your blood sugar levels constant throughout the day. If you do not eat well, you run the risk of overeating at your next meal. Make sure to eat a good proportion of fat, protein and carbohydrates so you nourish and satiate your body. A good meal should be high in fiber, including vegetables and lean cuts of meat and fish. You should appropriately space snacks between meals. Numbers 3, 2 and 1 on the hunger scale are uncomfortable, very uncomfortable and weak or light headed, respectively. You have gone too long without a meal if you are feeling uncomfortable. There is no benefit to your diet or your health to starve yourself. If you are eating appropriate amounts of food throughout the day, your stomach should not rumble. You should still be able to concentrate and not feel irritable.
