Information on Anadrol 50

Anadrol-50 (oxymetholone) is a medication used to manage various forms of anemia. For example, it can treat aplastic anemia, a condition in which bone marrow does not make enough red blood cells, or myelofibrosis, a condition in which scarred tissue infiltrates your bone marrow.

Features

According to Drugs.com, Anadrol-50 is an anabolic steroid that is similar to the male hormone testosterone.

Side Effects

The National Library of Medicine says that Anadrol-50's side effects include increased erections in males, clitoral enlargement in females, trouble sleeping, decreased sex drive, acne chills, a deeper voice in women and hirsuitism (hair growth). Anadrol can also cause liver tumors and peliosis hepatitis (a condition in which your liver and spleen are filled with blood-filled cysts).

Warning

According to Drugs.com, Anadrol should not be used in pregnant women as it can lead to birth defects. You should also avoid Anadrol if you have a history of breast or prostate cancer, and kidney or liver disease. Anadrol may worsen these conditions.

Dose

The National Library of Medicine says that the recommended dose is 1 to 5mg/kg of body weight daily.

Drug Interactions

Drugs.com says that Anadrol may interact with warfarin, insulin or diabetes. Avoid these medications as the combination may make Anadrol less effective.
